Art Journal page for Visible Image

Hi everyone, today I am sharing an Art Journal page that I have created for Visible Image.

I began with some torn up dictionary paper glued onto the art journal page

Using the Elemental background stamp I have embossed onto the page using a silver and grey embossing powder

Using Golden High flow paints I have applied to the page and allowed the water to spread the paint

In the next photo, you will see that I have made a mistake and I wanted to share this with you.  Art Journals to me are about the process including all mistakes.  I have embossed the image - but it was upside down!!!

as my page is part of a journal I didnt want to rip the page out - so instead I have stamped the image again onto another piece of paper and fussy cut it out.   The little dots are now at the top but to me that is fine!!!

I have stamped some of the other stamps in the collection around the page and outlined the lips and edges of the page with Stablio Black ALL pencil.

12x12 Layout for Scrap Matrix DT

Today I would like to share my layout for this months challenge at Scrap Matrix - all things RANGER.  I have used Dina Wakely Heavy Body paints to create this layout of my super lazy cat (I guess you dont get fat like him without perfecting laziness!!!)

I have used 7 Dots Paint Chips Collection paper.  I have mixed two colours of Dina Wakley Heavy Body paints - Lemon and Turquoise with Prima Modelling paste and applied through a couple of stencils

I love how the colours remain vibrant even when mixing with white texture paste.

I created the backgournd using tags, stickers and others papers from the same 7 Dots Paint Chips collection.
The flowers were white and have been painted with the Dina Wakley Paints.

I have painted the metal flowers with white gesso and then Dina Wakley Heavy Body paint - black

Once I had the page assembled I have used all three colours watered down to apply paint splats around the layout.

2nd Design Team Reveal for Scrap Matrix Moodboard Challenge

Hi everyone - oh my where did January go - just blinked and it is gone - and as my birthday is in January I am also a year older - that is not something to celebrate at my age LOL.

Well I am here to share a second project for Scrap Matrix that I have created using the holiday moodboard:

I am very lucky to live in the country but have the sea about 15 minutes drive from me.  Over the summer break I took this photo and have created this layout

I began by placing clear gesso over the entire 7 Dots paper from the Hazy Days Collection (suitable name for the moodboard!).  I do this most of the time as I am often unsure how much mixed media I am going to use on the page.

I have then created a photo matt using paper from the 13 arts collection by Fiona Paltridge.  The colours of that collection matched my photo and the 7 dots paper.

I have applied a coat of white gesso and random areas of white crackle paste for texture effect

I have then used an AALL & Create Stencil #6 and Fresco Paper Artsy Paints in Jade and Tangerine Twist mixed with Whipped Spackle.

I have then created some tags from the 6x6 papers from the Hazy Days collection and used some German Scrap Elements in Black, metal flowers and a couple of metal embellies.

To complete the layout I have randomly stamped from sayings around the layout using the AALL and Create Stamp Set # 8.

Here is a links to the products that I have used:

Art Journal for Visible Image

Good morning everyone,  I cant believe that we are in February already.   2017 went by so fast and it looks like it is not slowing down for 2018.

Today I would like to share an art journal page that I have created using the awesome Visible Image stamps.

I began the process by using an art journal page that I had already used to clean my brayer with a scribbled through with the end of a paintbrush.

I have used Dylusion paints randomly around the pages.

I have then used Dylusions Crushed Grape through a Tim Holtz Brick Stencil

With my brayer I pushed all the colour to the background using Dylusion Black Marble

I have then stamped the horses images from the Stay Wild collection using embossing ink and White embossing powder.

I have used Dylusions White Linen and a brayer to push some of the black into the background.

Using an orange and purple embossing powder I have stamped around the art journal pages with the Elemental stamp.

Steampunk Canvas and ATC's for Scrap FX

Hi everyone,  today I am up on the Scrap FX blog sharing some steampunk ATC's and a canvas.  Steampunk would have to be one of my favourites!
To begin - here are  the 3 ATC's that I created:

I began by using a gear stencil and 3D gloss gel over some black cardstock

Once that was dry I have used Finnabair Mica Powder to add colour

Once dry, I have used black gesso with a brayer over the entire card

I have coloured some ripped up bandages with Dylusions inks

The chipboard has been covered with white gesso and then Finnabair Art Basic waxes applied with my finger.

My next project is a steampunk canvas:

For this I began the same was as the ATC's - I applied 3d Gloss gel through a stencil (two) and once dried I completed covered with black gesso
I have then glued down some lace and plasters tape
Again, another coat of black gesso.  I then began placing all the elements where I would like them to go.

Once i was happy with everything I glued them down and painted everything with black gesso.  Now is was time to add the colour.  First colour was Finnabair Metallique Blackberry

I then added Finnabair Metallique Midnight Sky

Then Steampunk Copper and finally Deep Waters.
I have applied some mica powders randomly around the embellishments - Lilac Opal Magic, Blue Opal Magic and Gold Opal Magic.
Some final touches with metallique Wax - Rich Copper and Opal magic wax - Blue velvet and some micro beads and it is all done.
